We came to Dayton to bowl in the UAW tournament. After bowling, we needed a place to eat dinner. We had a name of a place someone recommended, not being familiar with Dayton, we were not sure of the location. Driving for a while, we came across the Hickory Bar B Que and decided to try it not wanting to drive any more. Had a little wait being Saturday it was acceptable. We met a Dayton WWII vet named Max he said we made a good choice. Had a great dinner excellent service and a pleasant conversation with Max. The Bar B Que sauce was different from the traditional sauces we were used to with its unique flavor the ribs tasted so good. The house salad dressing was another great taste we agreed on. Therefore, a road trip ended in a great experience glad we stopped met Max and had a great meal.
They accept reservations so that is nice. We were there for a birthday and stated this when making reservations. Because they print the menu's daily the top of the menu was customized just for our group and wished the person in our party a Happy Birthday. The food was great.
Jay's is the best place for Fresh Seafood in the Dayton area and they also have a great wine selection.
